welcome to the new age
In finland as well as all over the world I guess
people are really interested in spirtual things.
and many times other sources seem to be more
spiritual than what we christians live out.
so this weekend there was this exhibition in espoo,
where a bunch of new agers came together
to explore different kind of psychics, tarot cards,
just you name it-everything.
milka, tytti and me went there as well.
we know this pastor in finland who does
some interfaith dialogues stuff and he knows
a lady who has become a believer from those
new age backrounds. the lady still goes
to the exhibition, offering free prayer for people.
so we went there to pray for people and to explore
the spiritual athmosphere, to get a new experience
and to see if Jesus wants to do something.
and Im quite sure he wants.
it would be kind of cool to see
us christians reaching out to these
people who yearn for spirituality.
we talked with some people and prayed for some.
the athmospehere was confusing,
but Im up for some confusion.
Its good to learn to discern and live
with different kinds of things happening
and going on around me.

New age. Just a great virus if we know how to use it. It makes so many believers around get scared ("Satan is in there and controls it. Keep out!") or just ignore it ("A bunch of junkies, nothing more. Bah."). It is in my opinion the best place to share the gospel with people, it's just like entering a cell full of starving people with a basket full of food. People so get interested because that's why they are there from the beggining, looking for answers.
My pastor was given a Bible while traveling in India. He, like many other Israelies was looking for an answer to life. He started reading and the questions started popping out. When he was back here and heard that there are Jews that know about this Yeshua thing he started asking pastors to teach him more about it. And in this way he found a pastor who taught him everything and answered his questions. He is my pastor so you could guess he is a believer.
Every year the congregations in Israel send a group of people to this festivals, they give food for free (not only spiritual) and some books and comics to everyone who is interested. In this way many came to hear about Yeshua in a country where this Name is a "blasphemy". My report.
Cool to hear about what you did. Hope you touched lives.
See you,
Dimpleboy
It is exactly right to go to a New Age festival and witness for Jesus.
Why? Precisely because it is there that He is wanted.
What? How can that be? They want Buddha, they want Krishna, they want to do yoga, to meditate, to raise their consciousness, to arouse the kundalini, to see the One in All, but not Jesus!
No, my Christian friends.
They DO want Jesus, they DO want the Living God, the One Who is, Who was, Who is to come, the Pantokrator.
They WANT Him.
What they DON'T want is just another "version."
What they don't want is your ideas about a God who seems helpless to transform your lives, a God whom you seem to own, a God to whom you give your left-overs (even when you proudly give your tithe, you do it so you can receive His blessing, and so you can be seen as prosperous and victorious).
The Jesus the New Age wants is the Jesus who is looking for THEM, who walks to them in His disciples' feet, who smiles at them with His love in His disciples' eyes, who helps them with His disciples' hands.
The Jesus who comes in grace, willing to lay down His life in His disciples' willingness to lay down theirs, even to giving up their freedom without counting the cost.
New Age fairs are like this world of which they are a part, they include the sincere but also the insincere, those interested in the Truth but also those who want to make a profit from those who hope that money can buy Truth.
But the Truth cannot be bought or sold, no, not that way.
We are not those who buy or sell the Truth, for we know the Truth who has purchased us with more than money, and we could never sell Him who bought us at the price of His own blood.
We can go among them, the New Age seekers, following Him Who is already walking in their multitudes, seeking His sheep.
How ironic that man should think that he can seek God, or that he must seek Him.
No, it is the God we did not know who came to seek US.
And now that He has found us, who better to send out with Him to gather the rest of His lost sheep?
Go with Jesus.
I would rather have written you a private email, but I don't see an email address on your blog.
I just noticed from your profile that among your interests, favorite books, etc., you listed Hebrews, especially chapter 11, and also your interest in Islam.
This chapter of Hebrews is a sort of key into a kingdom view that I and my young synergos (co-worker in the Lord) Brock Smith share. It was his testimony based on this chapter which he gave to his young adults group, which finally severed him from the Baptist church he was attending. He tried very hard to stay "in church", but the games that are played there were just too much a waste of precious time. So he withdrew, and he and I form a single, very intense cell of the Body of Christ, in which we live our lives together in Christ as much as possible. He is a young filmmaker and hopes to produce his second film this year. His screenwriting is anointed in the extreme. For me, it is a privelege to work with him for the Lord. Take a look at Brock's blog sometimes, even though he's not blogging currently, because he's working on his filmmaking right now. Read his earlier posts (2006), for your encouragement, and leave comments for him, even on his old posts, to encourage him. His site is: http://acrossbearerspilgrimage.blogspot.com/
I am a 56 year old Greek Orthodox man who support my church but am not limited by it. I have a love for the Arab people and for those in bondage to Islam. I can read Arabic somewhat. I also love the Jews, as does Brock. We attend a Sephardic synagogue together sometimes, waiting for the Lord to move, maybe giving us an open door to witness for Jesus. The Sefardim are Jews from Greece, Turkey and the Near East, and it's where we feel most comfortable.
Sorry for this long comment. As it is not a comment, but an email letter, please delete it from your blog, so it doesn't clutter it. I am just blessed to know you exist, and thank you for responding to my previous comment.
